A Magical weekend spent in the most amazing place+

My daughter recommended booking the Hacienda as she has been to the Cascades before and has always wanted to stay the night. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Hacienda. The place is magnificent and the views are incredible. From start to finish I felt looked after and relaxed. The rooms were divine - the layout and the view are 10/10. They were also clean and comfy with all the essentials in the bathroom - you don't need to bring any toiletries with you. I would definitely go back to the Hacienda Spa again. The only slight negative thing was after using the Cascades, I slipped on the hard stone stairs as there was a lot of water on them. The staff immediately allowed me to go back into the cascades to massage the affected area and gave me an ice pack. Unfortunately I woke up with excruciating pain the next morning but when I told the staff I was given a complimentary massage, which helped. I would just like to see a sign next to the stairs warning people they are slippery or maybe some sort of carpet put down. The fall could have been a lot worse. My daughter at first wasn't allowed to remain in the hotel and use the pool after we finished at the Cascades. She drove all the way from the South and wanted to have lunch by the pool, whilst we waited to check in. We booked thinking she could spend the day with us there. Eventually no one asked her to leave but I do think family members of guests particularly when it is a small group should be allowed to use the pool.

Hacienda Na Xamena is a truly special place+

Hacienda Na Xamena is a truly special place; their website makes excellent use of video to showcase its best features, but you really do have to stay to see it for yourself. The hotel is located at Ibiza's most northern point, in a cliff side high above sea level. We rented a car with a sat nav and drove there from the airport (c40 minutes), which was quite an experience in itself - it's a very steep climb! Be careful if you're driving at night - the roads are narrow & not lit whatsoever. Given the location, I definitely recommend hiring a car for the duration of your trip, as you're a good 20 minutes drive, at least, from any major attraction. You'll save a lot on taxi fares (we paid €40 from the hotel to Amnesia one-way, as a guideline). We stayed in a 'Double Superior' (#508) for 4 nights. There are 77 rooms in total, each unique depending on their position, due to the layout of the hotel. If you value in-room space & unobscured sea views, request #508. There are rooms with much bigger balconies but we didn't feel we missed out, given the space to sunbathe poolside. It's tough to put the room & views in to words, so check out my photos instead! The buffet breakfast is fairly straightforward in terms of choice (you can opt to have it in-room for no extra charge), but the quality was very good overall. Lots of cold meats, cheeses, pastries & fruit, with cooked eggs, bacon & sausages to order, but limited cereals & yoghurts. The service seems pretty laid back at times, although I did feel for Marie who seemed to be doing a lot of the hard work alone most days. Indeed, I did get the impression that breakfast & lunch times were quite understaffed, relative to the number of guests to cater for. Unfortunately we weren't impressed with the service at Eden restaurant. We chose to dine here on our last night; a busy Friday, given they're open to the public too. Our reservation wasn't recorded despite confirming over phone the night before, so we ended up being squeezed on to a small table directly behind the entrance desk. It took 20 minutes to be offered a drink, and another 40 for any food to arrive. Given our proximity to the kitchen & bar, where all the waiters were moving between, it certainly couldn't have been a case of being out of sight & mind. It's a shame because the food was delicious, albeit reservedly portioned (I recommend the ravioli to start & pig for main). I did make this experience known to reception afterwards, but despite profuse regret & apologies, no action was taken. Of course, going by social media findings, no stay at Hacienda Na Xamena would be complete without a trip to the 'Cascadas Suspendidas' at La Posidonia spa. This was a relaxing 40 minute session meandering a path through various water jets, no different to what you'd expect in a normal hot tub, but it's the views that make it worthwhile. Go late in the day at 6pm when the sun is low to get the best lighting for your photo! I'd like to give special mention & thanks to Laura, Tiago & Stephanie, all of whom provided an exceptional customer experience & friendly conversation throughout the course of our stay. I've given Hacienda Na Xamena a 5 star rating because it's a unique place, without any comparison on the island of Ibiza. If you want to escape civilisation & relax, you'd be hard pressed to find a better place. It's not one without a few minor flaws, but all can be corrected given constructive feedback, so it doesn't affect the score. I would definitely return here.

second time staying and loved every minute+

this was the second time staying and the same as last time we love every minute of our stay. All the stay where friendly and very helpful. Our only issue was the pool bar service. some times we had to wait 20 minutes from ordering a drink to receiving the drink. On two night we when out to the pool at 9pm to watch the sunset, We ordered our drinks at 9pm but didnt receive the drinks until 9:20/9:25 this then meant we had only a few minutes to drink our drinks before leaving the hotel at 9:30 to go for dinner. This was similar during the day. We would see our drinks sitting on the bar but not coming over to us for at least another 5/10 minutes.

Magnificent view+

Good quality, especially breakfast and restuarant. Good service overall. No solving or fixing of TV in two days in spite of three calls for it.
