Windlesham House, England | Co-educational day school

Windlesham House is an independent day school for boys and girls aged 3–11 in West Sussex, England. Surround by a beautiful 60 acre estate on the South Downs in West Sussex, Windlesham House is a warm and welcoming school that helps children to grow and flourish.

Details

One of the leading Prep and Pre-Prep schools in England, Windlesham is dedicated to developing pupils’ knowledge, nurturing their skills and creating rounded young people ready to fulfil their potential.

The school scored ‘outstanding’ on the most recent Ofsted and ISI reports and Windlesham children go on to a range of 30 Senior Schools, a large amount gaining scholarships. Small class sizes, individual attention and modern facilities contribute to this success, as does outstanding teaching.

While the school exceeds academically and pastorally, it also prizes innovation: examples include a live link with the international space station and a dedicated web channel broadcasting live to parents.

Windlesham puts children at the centre of everything throughout school life. Young students have time and space to be children, away from intensive academic pressure.

They make dens, climb trees and camp in the woods. All pupils are encouraged to try a host of extra-curricular activities where they learn about independence, interdependence and co-operation.

During their time at Windlesham, children are allowed to make mistakes and manage their own risks in a happy, safe, nurturing environment. They learn how to form respectful and strong relationships with each other and adults.

Children leave Windlesham as confident, curious and above all, kind people ready to make a difference in their world. Senior Schools often comment on how well prepared Windlesham children are for the next stage.

Most of the 300 boys and girls at Windlesham are boarders and are given responsibility at an early age. Parents are always welcome to visit and stay in regular contact with their children and members of staff. Overseas boarders are well-catered for with their travel arrangements carefully co-ordinated by the school office.
